Honda's popular CR-V SUV is set to receive a new TrailSport version, emphasizing off-road capability. This addition will coincide with the updated CR-V model, scheduled for release this year. Similar to the Honda Passport TrailSport and Pilot TrailSport, the CR-V TrailSport will stand out with distinct exterior styling and potentially enhanced features.

While specific technical upgrades for the TrailSport version have not yet been confirmed, its appearance is certain to make it easily recognizable. For example, the Passport TrailSport features gloss-black exterior accents, amber daytime running lights, and a steel skid plate. The Pilot TrailSport offers off-road tires and a unique Diffused Sky Blue body color.

The sixth-generation Honda CR-V debuted in 2022, boasting increased dimensions, a more comprehensive standard equipment package, and an improved Real Time AWD system. This system now allows up to 50% of torque to be directed to the rear axle, enhancing safety and off-road capability. Additionally, a hill descent control system is included to further improve its off-road prowess.

In North America, the CR-V is available with either a 2.0-liter hybrid inline-four or a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a CVT transmission. In Europe, only the hybrid option is offered, complemented by the e:PHEV plug-in hybrid system.

Beyond the standard lineup, the CR-V e:FCEV, a hydrogen-powered version, is also available in Japan and the United States. Its powertrain includes a 125-horsepower fuel cell stack, a 176-horsepower electric motor (311 Nm), and a 17.7 kWh battery. The battery serves as a buffer, as in conventional FCEVs, but can also operate as an independent power source with Level II (240 V) charging capability. With a fully charged battery, the e:FCEV can cover 47–60 kilometers (EPA/WLTP), while the total range extends to 435–600 kilometers.
