Ford Focus – Thank You, Next!
The Ford Focus, once the world's best-selling car, is taking its final lap and disappearing into the horizon forever. The last units will roll off the production line at Ford’s German factory on November 30, 2025, bringing this chapter to a definitive close. A successor? There won’t be one.
There’s a certain irony in this. Despite its continued success in Europe—85,000 units sold in 2024 is hardly a disaster—Ford has decided that regular cars are simply too... ordinary. Instead, the company is shifting its focus to "cult models" like the Bronco, Mustang, and Raptor, as well as its ever-expanding lineup of SUVs. In a world where cars keep getting bigger and more excessive, the everyday person’s car has become a relic of the past.
With the Focus gone, Ford will no longer offer any traditional passenger cars in Europe—Fiesta and Mondeo have already been put out to pasture. Meanwhile, rivals like Volkswagen, Toyota, Stellantis, Kia, and Hyundai continue to produce the kind of vehicles that regular people actually buy. The result? Ford’s European sales have already plummeted by 16%, and the outlook isn’t getting any brighter.
