Ford launches factory backed 700 hp upgrade for the F-150
Ford Performance has unveiled a new official tuning package for the Ford F-150 that dramatically boosts output while keeping the factory warranty intact. Known as the FP700 package, the upgrade lifts power levels close to those of the range topping Ford F-150 Raptor R without requiring buyers to purchase the most expensive version of the truck.
The move highlights how major manufacturers are beginning to compete directly with aftermarket tuners by offering high performance upgrades developed and supported by the factory itself.
A supercharged Coyote V8
The FP700 kit is designed for F-150 models equipped with the 5.0 litre Coyote V8 engine. At the heart of the upgrade sits a large 3.0 litre Whipple type supercharger paired with a high capacity intercooler to manage the extra heat generated by forced induction.
The package also includes higher flow fuel injectors, revised fuel pressure regulation and a recalibrated engine control unit developed by Ford Performance. The updated ECU mapping ensures a smooth power delivery curve while coordinating the engine’s increased torque with the truck’s transmission.
With the system installed, the V8 produces at least 700 horsepower and roughly 800 Nm of torque. For comparison, the standard naturally aspirated 5.0 litre engine in the F-150 delivers around 400 horsepower.
Performance without sacrificing the warranty
One of the FP700 package’s main selling points is its official status. When installed by an authorised dealer, the upgrade retains the vehicle’s factory warranty of three years or 60,000 kilometres.
Unlike many aftermarket tuning solutions, the kit is also fully emissions compliant across all US states. That means it meets strict regulatory requirements while still offering a significant performance increase.
Ford’s approach provides buyers with the reassurance of factory engineering and legal compliance, something independent tuning firms cannot always guarantee.
Ford responds to the aftermarket
The launch is widely seen as a direct response to the success of aftermarket companies such as Hennessey Performance Engineering and Roush Performance, which have long offered high power upgrades for Ford trucks.
By introducing a manufacturer approved alternative, Ford keeps enthusiasts within its own ecosystem while maintaining quality control and warranty coverage.
A cheaper route to extreme performance
For customers, the FP700 package opens an interesting path. Buyers can purchase a standard F-150 with the Coyote V8 and later upgrade it to near Raptor R performance levels without paying for the full flagship model.
The result is a pickup that combines everyday practicality with supercar level power figures, backed by factory engineering and support. For many American truck enthusiasts, that may prove the most appealing balance of all.
