When the world hands out design awards, the usual scene involves black turtlenecks, PowerPoint slides, and chairs without backs. But when the winner is Ferrari, it’s never just about design — it’s a full-blooded, scarlet-red ode to speed and desire. And that’s precisely what happened in Berlin, where the Ferrari 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider scooped up the coveted 2025 iF Design Gold Award — one of the most prestigious honors in the global design arena.
What makes this win truly remarkable? Out of over 10,000 entries, only 75 Gold Awards were handed out — and the only cars to receive one bore the Prancing Horse. The judges didn’t mince words: “This is a design that nods to the Ferraris of the 1950s and ’60s, yet is undeniably modern — from its cutting-edge aerodynamics to the brilliant graphical flow of its 3D surfaces.” In short: this isn’t just a car that moves — it’s a sculpture that just happens to go very, very fast.
And Ferrari didn’t stop there. The F80 also brought home a standard iF Design Award. Under the leadership of Flavio Manzoni, the Ferrari Design Centre has evolved over the last decade into something far beyond a drawing office — it’s a modern Renaissance atelier, where carbon fibre and sculpture live in glorious, aerodynamic matrimony.
