Ferrari Unveils the F76, a Supercar That Exists Only in the Virtual World

Ferrari marked its third consecutive Le Mans 24 Hours victory in an unconventional way, revealing a car that will never exist in the real world. The new F76 is a fully digital creation, existing solely as an NFT and named in tribute to the brand’s first Le Mans triumph 76 years ago, in 1949.

Developed under design chief Flavio Manzoni, the F76 emerged from Ferrari’s styling centre as what the company calls “a virtual innovation project that merges Ferrari’s racing heritage with the creativity of digital design”. In simpler terms, it’s Ferrari staking its claim in the metaverse, where horsepower is replaced by pixels.

A digital tribute to Le Mans glory

The F76 symbolises the success of Ferrari’s 499P race cars at Le Mans. It features a pair of separate cockpits, an ultra-low body barely taller than its wheels, and a dramatic aerodynamic form that looks more like a spacecraft than something built for tarmac. Its front lights consist of four dots per side, while the main beams are retractable, a nod to Ferrari icons of the 1980s.

No technical figures, no engine — only imagination

Ferrari has released no specifications, because there are none. The F76 lives entirely in the digital realm, powered only by imagination. Enthusiasts are invited simply to appreciate its design — or to buy, sell, or collect it as a digital asset.

A symbol of shifting luxury

The project reflects a growing trend among luxury marques to create exclusive NFTs that blend design, technology, and collectability. It’s a way to maintain prestige in an era when younger audiences value digital ownership as much as physical possession.

Ferrari’s F76 fits neatly into this new reality, where digital objects could one day rival metal-bodied sports cars in desirability. Lamborghini and Bugatti have already ventured into the NFT space, but Ferrari’s move confirms that even the most tradition-bound carmaker is now steering confidently into the world of pixels and blockchain.
