Chevrolet Blazer EV SS to Lead the 2025 Daytona 500 as the Official Pace Car
The Chevrolet Blazer EV SS, the fastest SS model ever produced, will take on the role of the official pace car for the 2025 Daytona 500, set to take place on February 16, 2025, at Daytona International Speedway (DIS).
Slated for release in the first quarter of this year, the Blazer EV SS packs serious performance, featuring Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, which rockets the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Its electric powertrain generates an impressive 615 horsepower, delivering thrilling acceleration and all-electric excitement.
For its Daytona 500 debut, the pace car is a stock production model, retaining its factory specs without any performance modifications. However, it receives a custom livery and integrated strobe lighting, ensuring it stands out on race day.
The Blazer EV SS comes equipped with Brembo front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, a 17.7-inch color touchscreen, Super Cruise driver assistance technology, and an EPA-estimated range of up to 303 miles (487 km) on a full charge.
This marks the first time a Blazer has been selected as the official Daytona 500 pace car, and notably, the first time an EV will lead the field to the green flag—a historic milestone for Chevrolet and NASCAR.
