Chinese manufacturer Chery is preparing to launch its most luxurious model yet, the seven-seat TIGGO 9 CSH, in the UK this December. This self-charging hybrid SUV combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors, producing a total of 428 horsepower and offering a claimed range of up to 1,050 kilometres. On electric power alone, it can travel around 146 kilometres, while fast charging replenishes the battery in just 18 minutes.
The flagship version, part of the Summit trim line, comes fully equipped. Inside, there are ventilated and massaging seats, an air-purified cabin, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and a 14-speaker SONY sound system. Most functions can be controlled by the built-in voice assistant simply by saying “Hello Chery.”
Safety is reinforced by 19 driver assistance systems and ten airbags, while practicality comes in the form of electrically folding seats and nearly two cubic metres of luggage space.
Prices start at around €50,000 (£43,000), with first deliveries expected before Christmas. Chery hopes the TIGGO 9 CSH will raise the bar for hybrid SUVs, combining comfort, strength, and just the right touch of swagger.
