Caterham and XING Mobility Showcase Electric Concept Car Project V in Tokyo
This year, British sports car icon Caterham is making its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon, presenting the electric concept car Project V in collaboration with Taiwan’s XING Mobility. The vehicle is equipped with XING Mobility’s state-of-the-art IMMERSIO CTP (cell-to-pack) battery system, marking a significant step forward in electric vehicle innovation.
The IMMERSIO CTP system offers several notable advantages:
- Lightweight Design: Eliminating traditional module structures reduces overall weight.
- High Performance: Stable thermal management ensures optimal operation even in extreme conditions.
- Flexibility: The adaptable battery design enhances weight distribution, improving handling and vehicle dynamics.
- Space Efficiency: The compact architecture integrates seamlessly with Project V’s aerodynamic body.
- Safety: Immersion cooling technology provides advanced protection against thermal runaway, ensuring reliability.
Immersion cooling involves submerging critical components, such as the battery, directly into a thermally conductive liquid. This approach allows for more efficient heat dissipation during operation while reducing the risk of overheating.
Project V first made waves at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it garnered attention for its innovative design and exceptional performance. Its appearance at the Tokyo Auto Salon further cements Caterham’s commitment to electrification and cutting-edge technology.
