Bentley’s Hottest Arrival: A Mysterious Continental GT Promises Adrenaline and Old-School Soul
Bentley’s next Continental GT is shrouded in mystery, but the signs point to a revival of the Supersports spirit: less compromise, more adrenaline, and a return to old-school driving purity.
The favourite marque of Britain’s aristocracy has dropped another tantalising hint. No model name, no exact debut date—yet enough to set enthusiasts’ pulses racing. The promises are lofty: exceptional dynamics and the rebirth of a legendary name. With only a single teaser image officially released, speculation is already in overdrive.
The photo showcases the rear of a Continental GT, but this is no restrained Bentley silhouette. Instead, it wears an integrated, full-width spoiler carved into the bootlid, more muscular haunches, reworked detailing behind the wheels and four gleaming exhaust tips that leave no doubt about its intent.
Most believe the Supersports badge is on its way back. Historically, that nameplate marked the fiercest, most uncompromising Continentals, powered by Bentley’s now-retired W12. This time, logic points to a twin-turbo V8 as the beating heart.
Rumour suggests around 650 horsepower—slightly less than the current Speed, but without hybrid assistance, meaning a lighter, sharper, more visceral car. Rear-wheel drive and recalibrated suspension are expected to deliver a rawer, more engaging driving experience, closer in spirit to classic GT performance than to modern electrified muscle.
The car will be revealed before year’s end, with Bentley confirming it will be built in limited numbers. In other words, exclusivity—already a given in Bentley’s world—will be pushed to another level.
