With a cryptic teaser video celebrating decades of Audi sports cars and closing on the line “Yesterday’s legends are tomorrow’s inspiration,” the brand has ignited speculation: is an all-new electric sports car about to take the stage in Munich?

Audi’s lineup has already bid farewell to both the TT and the R8, names that once embodied its performance identity. Yet the teaser suggests this is not the end of that lineage but the dawn of a new chapter. Automotive media across Europe are betting that at the upcoming Munich motor show, Audi will unveil a pure-electric sports car concept positioned between the compact TT and the flagship R8.

Hints from CEO Gernot Döllner add fuel to the fire—he has previously confirmed that such a project is in development. Industry whispers suggest the car could share its underpinnings with Porsche’s forthcoming electric 718, a platform already being engineered for lightweight, high-performance applications. Porsche, for its part, is signaling caution, moving toward electrification but not yet cutting ties with combustion outright.

Audi, however, appears more resolute. Every clue in the teaser points toward a fully electric model, carrying forward the brand’s sporting DNA into an emissions-free era. If the Munich debut confirms what the teaser implies, fans may be witnessing not just a successor to the TT and R8, but the birth of a new flagship that defines Audi’s electric future.
