Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Amazon Ink Deal for Over 200 eActros 600 Electric Trucks
Amazon has placed its largest order for electric heavy-duty trucks to date, securing over 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 vehicles. This milestone also marks the largest electric truck sale in the history of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
The eActros 600 trucks will be deployed on Amazon’s high-mileage routes, connecting warehouses, sorting facilities, and distribution centers. The vehicles will be distributed between the UK (140+ trucks) and Germany (50+ trucks). Before deliveries commence, Amazon tested the eActros 600 prototype at a logistics hub in Germany.
The eActros 600 features an impressive 600 kWh battery capacity, enabling a real-world range of up to 500 kilometers without intermediate charging, even while carrying a 40-tonne trailer. With intermediate charging, the daily range can exceed 1,000 kilometers. The truck is equipped with a proprietary electric drive axle developed by Mercedes-Benz and supports both CCS charging (up to 400 kW) and future megawatt charging systems (MCS).
The eActros 600 is designed to replace the majority of diesel trucks in long-haul operations, offering a comprehensive transportation solution. This includes the truck itself, charging infrastructure, consultancy services, and new offerings under the TruckCharge brand.
