ABT shows its first motorcycle project, Brutale 1000 ABT gets a 208 hp track kit
ABT Sportsline, best known for tuning Volkswagen Group cars, has entered the motorcycle world. Its first project is the Brutale 1000 ABT, a limited series of 130 numbered bikes created to mark ABT’s 130th anniversary.
ABT starts with MV Agusta’s flagship
The special model from ABT and MV Agusta is based on the Brutale 1000 platform. This is not just a new paint scheme. The bike gets carbon fibre parts, an Alcantara seat, bespoke graphics and a carbon aerodynamic cover for the rear wheel, designed to reduce drag around the bike.
In total, the Brutale 1000 ABT uses 19 carbon fibre components. These include parts for the air intakes, tank sides, front spoiler, heat shields, engine covers and rear wheel cover. The colour scheme combines Nero Carbonio Metallizzato black with Rosso Fuoco red, which sounds suitably Italian before anyone has even started the engine.
More power with the track kit
The bike is powered by a 998 cc in line four engine. With the standard exhaust, it produces 201 hp and 116 Nm of torque. With the supplied track kit, which includes a four outlet Arrow titanium exhaust and a dedicated ECU unit, output rises to 208 hp.
ABT stresses that the track kit components are intended for circuit use only. A polite way, perhaps, of saying that not every piece of theatre belongs on the road.
The chassis uses electronically controlled Öhlins shock absorbers, forged wheels and Brembo Stylema brake callipers. The track kit also includes 320 mm Braking Batfly front brake discs.
Price starts at almost €41,000 in Italy
Production of the Brutale 1000 ABT begins in the fourth quarter of 2026. Exactly 130 examples will be built, with a recommended price in Italy of €40,990.
Sales will take place through MV Agusta’s official dealer network. For ABT, this is clearly an image project rather than a move into mass market motorcycles. The company is not arriving with a volume model, but with a limited series that blends Italian motorcycle design with the motorsport language of a German tuning house.
